Certified Government Contractor

A certification effort founded by the National Association of Government Contractors Education Foundation, the Certified Government Contractor Program is designed to elevate professional standards, enhance individual performance and designate those who demonstrate knowledge essential to the procurement process.

The NAGC Certified Government Contractor Program (CGC) is respected by procurement professionals and major prime government contractors.

The CGC Program Process
Step 1. CGC Program Admission
Admission to the CGC Program requires registration online for the CGC Program Certification Exam. Once you have registered for the CGC Program Certification Exam, the CGC Program Coursework will be delivered and you may begin taking the courses provided.

Step 2. CGC Program Coursework
CGC Program PrepCourse is provided through a set of courses with additional quizzes in each section to help prepare you for the Certification Exam. The PrepCourse offers a comprehensive education in the government procurement process.

Step 3. CGC Program Certification Exam
Once you have completed the CGC Program Coursework, you will be prepared to sit for the CGC Program Certification Exam. The CGC Program Certification Exam is available online in the NAGC Member Center. You will have 60 minutes to complete the exam and will have your score returned immediately upon submission. Once you receive a passing score, you will be awarded certification immediately and have access to materials to promote your CGC Certification Status.

Step 4. Continuing Education Recertification Credits
After passing the CGC Program Certification Exam, you will be awarded Certified Government Contractor (CGC) certification for one year with the ability to renew annually.

Certification Exam Preparation
The CGC Program Coursework prepares you for the CGC Program Certification Exam through a comprehensive online program of courses that covers topics ranging from business plans to price negotiations.

Certification Eligibility
Any business owner, employee, or contracts manager who is a member in good standing of the National Association of Government Contractors may participate in the Certified Government Contractor Program. Certification may be revoked at any time for violation of the Code of Ethics or ethical standards and best practices of the association.
