A voluntary certification effort founded by the National Association of Government Contractors Education Foundation, the Certified Government Contractor Program is designed to elevate professional standards, enhance individual performance and designate those who demonstrate knowledge essential to the procurement process.

Join a distinguished group of peers nationwide who have chosen certification to enhance their professional stature.
Certification Preparation
The Certified Government Contractor Program prepares you for the certification examination through a comprehensive, self-paced online course that covers 20 chapters on topics ranging from business plans to price negotiations. Each chapter includes an audio guide through the material that will point out important items for the examination. The four sections of the course end with a short quiz to test your knowledge of the material presented. The estimated completion time for the course is 27 hours, with most participants completing the course in under two months.
Benefits of Certification
If you have made a commitment to seeking contracts with governments, universities and private corporations, you should consider obtaining your CGC.
  • You will gain an expanded knowledge into every aspect of the procurement process.
  • You will be nationally recognized for your professional designation.
  • You will expand your networking reach through exclusive CGC events.
Professional recognition through your peers extends itself throughout the procurement field and into government agencies and other institutions you seek to do business with. The CGC seal is the trusted mark of a procurement professional. Once certified, you may display the seal on printed materials and your web site.
Certification Eligibility
Any business owner or employee who is a member in good standing of the National Association of Government Contractors may participate in the Certified Government Contractor Program. Certification may be revoked at any time for violation of the ethical standards and best practices of the association.
